IN THE OLIVE GROVE
Our cultivation in association with selected producers implements rules of proper agricultural practices. During harvesting every year, we observe the suitable ripening indicators and avoid damaging the fruit; it is collected in suitable containers and transported to our olive press at the end of the day.
We have pronounced history with periods of high blossoming as well as destruction, a Mycenean civilsation, two 12th century temples, as well as monuments of significant cultural significance. The altitude of Chalandritsa is also the boundary line for cultivating olives.
Its dry climate, protected and blessed by the mountains in the surrounding region, combats the olive tree’s natural enemies and avoids the usage of herbicides, which favours natural cultivation. The limestone eocky terrain provides unique organoleptic properties such as abundance in aromativ ingredients, thickness, etc. The combination of altitude, climate, long sunshine, as well as the composition of the region’s soil, are defined by agricultural scientists as the ideal conditions for cultivating olive trees.
